Make someone speak

In Sweden, it can be very easy for English-speakers to get by without any Swedish at all. Most Swedes are very good at English, and are polite and considerate when someone does not know Swedish well - so they often switch to English. This eases conversation, but can make it hard to learn. Today, be pushy! Make someone you know who is learning speak with you for at least 10 minutes! Don´t let him edge out by switching to English, but persist in keeping the conversation Swedish, even if it feels a little artificial!
